CENTRAL STATES INDUSTRIAL
PROBLEM
Central States Industrial (CSI) came out with a new feature for one of their products where users could make a custom configuration of that product. The client wanted to explore what it would look like if we were to implement that feature across multiple products on their site.

You can play around with a custom configurator at:

SOLUTION
The solution was to design and set up a way for the client to be able to add this custom functionality within their Content Management System (CMS) to their other products.

MY ROLE
I designed the interface for the client to easily set up the functionality onto their website. The client needed the ability to add and remove different components within each custom configurator since each product is different. The number of steps in a configurator, the materials, connection types, and extra add-ons all could change.

RESULTS
This project was very exciting because it was a complex problem. I had no experience with this project beforehand, did not know how the CMS worked, and I had to learn how to make something that is complex easy to use. The client was able to easily understand how to add this feature to a page within their website and setup each configurator to the specific product.

MORE WORK FOR CSI
During my time working on CSI's configurator, a couple small projects came through where I was asked to update the design of the website to best fit the user experience of the site.

The first project was to design what a blog article page would look like on the site and also find where the blog should be located within the navigation.

The second project was to update the contact forms in order to direct users to the correct departments within the company.
