DESIGN SYSTEM
PROBLEM
The company was changing its design standards to become more modern but with the company being so large, there wasn't a common Design System that others could easily use.
RESULTS
The team and I were able to create a Design System that modernized the company's design standards while increasing productivity across several teams. New teams and/or projects can use this Design System to quickly start the design process, quickly design pages, and iterate rapidly. Developers are also able to share their libraries with other teams so that there is common code being used and improved upon. Teams were able to produce more work, at a higher quality, and much quicker than before.
MY ROLE
I worked with other skilled designers to come up with the colors, design characteristics, and layout in order to achieve a thorough Design System. I ensured that we were meeting WCAG AA 2.1 Accessibility standards and I also helped teach other designers how to use the tools in order to build the Design System and use the designs within their projects.
SOLUTION
Using Material Design and InVision, we were able to quickly make a Design System that others within the team and company could use which abided by Accessibility standards and the company branding standards.
