PROBLEM

National Bank Holdings (NBH) was wanting to attract new users, increase user retention, and make their websites accessible for everyone.

SOLUTION

There were a couple solutions for this problem. We wanted to design a new website but we needed to understand our users first so that we can make the website better for them. We also needed to make this new website aesthetically pleasing to attract new users. And lastly, we needed to make the website meet WCAG AA accessibility compliance.

MY ROLE

I worked on understanding the users. In order to do this, I looked through the analytics of the current site to understand what users are looking for on the website. Some information was hidden away so I made the recommendation of making that information easier to access within the navigation. I also worked on educating the client on how to properly read their data from Google Analytics to better understand what information you can gather from that data.

RESULTS

The redesigned website is anticipated to launch late October. We finished the redesign with the input that I have made, the site will also feature an intercept survey which I am setting up so the client can gather more information from users. I gained more experience understanding which research methods to use, when to use, and how much effort to put towards those methods.
